Welcome to Thorncliffe Elementary School!
We serve approximately 200 students from Kindergarten through Grade 6, including students with special needs support, as well as behavior assistance programs. We also provide support for those students integrated into mainstream programs. Planning in classrooms is based on the individual needs of each student.
The staff is sensitive, dedicated and committed to improving student achievement. In conjunction with our academic program, we provide our students with the opportunity to learn social, cooperative and leadership skills.
Our school discipline plan is designed to teach children to take responsibility for their learning and behavior. We also focus on providing opportunities for students to experience success and build their self-esteem.
Thorncliffe has been a designated community school and we continue to play a central role in our community. We provide a safe and caring atmosphere for our students and their families to grow and learn. We pride ourselves on our family atmosphere, our open door policy and we encourage parents to take an active role in their child’s education. Thorncliffe has a strong volunteer program and reaches out to the larger community for support and assistance for our students.
